FERRARAH achieved the first hole in one during the event and sent us a clip. Being the nice Web 2.0 guys we are, we decided to support Youtube and posted it! FERRARAH you are now famous.
Now for all of you who have great shot we want to see them! Save them as a replay in the game and then either record and post them on youtube or email us with your user name and relay number at members@worldgolftour.com and we will post them for you. Remember you have to save them as a replay first.
On the second day we had our first sub 100 score posted by TAYLRT with a 94.53, who went in to the closing of the day with the lead. However on the 3rd day MFR821 posted commanding 85.35 to take over the lead. These guys are posting incredible scores and they are a testimony to that fact that practice makes perfect.
Here are some tips on how you can improve your game:
use the space bar to zoom into the green to more accurately aim your shot.
while zoomed in, look at the green and see where it slopes
aiming for the flag is not always the best, let the ball roll to the hole
use the “s” key to control where the ball is placed in your stance
the further up the ball is to your front foot, more reverse spin and height is achieved
swinging 100% is not always your best bet, club up and take an easier swing
the less power you swing with the larger the sweet spot and easier it is to time the hit.
So after one full day of play Jamesvon from Massashusetts emerged as the leader with a very impressive score of 136.20. What is even more impressive is that Jamesvon achieved this score with the Beginner series TaylorMade R7 clubs. It will be interesting for him try the R7 TP pros set and see what low score he can achieve. If you want to change clubs, simply log-in, go to your profile, and select change clubs. The TP set is a lot harder to use, but much more rewarding if you can hit the sweet spot.

I flew down to Las Vegas to watch the final round of the World Series of Golf earlier this week. By the time I got to Primm Valley Golf Course where they played the tournament the players were already on the 4th hole and one player had already been knocked out. I wrote about my experiences playing in a test tournament for this format about 2 months ago. It’s where golf and Texas Hold’em poker combine to make the greatest new betting format around! Essentially, all the players must ante before each hole (the ante doubles every 3 holes) and then the players bet after each shot during the hole and each player can call, raise or fold. Whoever ends up with all chips at the end of the day wins the tournament. The players had to qualify each day to move on to the next round. It was a very exciting finish in this inaugural event. The final four players included two professional poker players (Phil Ivey & Rhett Butler), Paul Schuller (an electrician from Washington) and Mark Ewing (an ex-daytrader from Orange County). Ivey got taken out early in the back nine and the remaining three players lasted through the 16th hole when Ewing went all-in and took out the other two players. For his great play, Ewing took home $250,000!!! Not bad for a 10 handicapper! He definitely seemed the most steady of all the players, although Butler looked like a pretty good player himself. There were camera crews following them and interviewing them after each hole. It was amazing they kept their composure with all the pressure on them. The World Series of Golf will be televised on NBC June 23rd and 24th. Make sure you watch it and see how much fun it was. Then next year, find an extra $10,000 and enter the tournament yourself!!
