World Series of Golf on NBC June 23rd & 24th
Make sure to watch the inaugural event of the World Series of Golf on NBC this weekend June 23rd and 24th. The event is made up of everyday golfers who anted up $10,000 each to enter the tournament. The format is based on Texas Hold ‘Em Poker where players must ante before each tee shot, and can bet, raise and fold on each hole. There will be some great drama played out on the course. The winner will end up taking home $250,000! Not a bad payday just for playing a couple rounds of golf.
Make sure you check it out on NBC this coming weekend!

Seems intersting, i like poker and golf, so this is the best of both worlds.

Yes, all of the winners from week 3, week 4 and the Grand, Premier and Team prize winners will be posted online as soon as the drawings are completed. Look for them late this week or early next week!

Texas Hold’em golf sounds like a great idea. Do you guys have the rules drawn up that you can post on here?

You can read all about the game and rules on the World Series of Golf website here: http://www.worldseriesofgolf.com/tournament.aspx
I attended the final round of this tournament in May and everyone who played this format loved it. I would expect this format to start popping up at country clubs and muni’s all over the country…but not with a $10K buy-in! It would be just as much fun with a $20 or $50 buy-in per person.

This is a fun format!
There is a Poker Golf Scorecard that allows any number of players to play poker against each other on any Golf course. You earn Poker cards by matching or beating a target score…then you play your best 5 cards on the front 9, back 9 and all 18 against all other players with a pokergolf scorecard.
LOTS and LOTS of FUN! Great for events!
