Best Scores from PGA.com Charity Challenge

Posted in World Golf Tour News at 1:39 pm by rich

As we prepare to launch a second version of our Skill Challenge tournament, I wanted to take some time out to recognize the players who achieved the best scores from our first tournament. We tried to design the Skill Challenge so scoring under 100 would be a noteworthy achievement, but we quickly learned that posting a score under 100 would happen early and often. In fact, we had 111 players score under the 100 point milestone!! Congratulations to all of the players who earned their way into our first World Golf Tour Hall of Fame!!

The game is very nice in that the graphics are fantastic and the competition is very good.

My complaint is that “perfect swings” start off line. I can hit a “perfect swing” on the same hole with the same wind and it can go 15 feet left or right of where I aim. I understand you want to make the game hard, but the natural undulations of the terrain and the speed of the swing meter make it hard enough. It’s discouraging to hit a “perfect swing” only to see your ball start a few degrees off line and end up 15 feet left or right of where you aimed. It makes practicing kind of pointless.

I love the game and hope to see a course change or more options fairly soon. And I wish you’d make the change I suggested in the last paragraph!!!

Are you playing with the Beginner clubs or the Hard clubs? If you are using the Beginner set of clubs, there is a slight “fuzz” factor that we have built in so the ball won’t land exactly where you are aiming even if you hit it perfectly. With the Hard set of clubs, the “fuzz” factor is reduced so you get a much truer ball flight and the ball will land nearly exactly where you aim. Of course, it is harder to get a perfect swing with the hard set because of the speed of the swing meter.
