WhiteShadow Takes the Lead!

Posted in World Golf Tour News at 8:04 pm by rich

WhiteShadow carded an unreal 38.99 in the Charity Challenge! He’s the first one to beat Sammy! I would imagine that his palms were a little sweaty as he lined up his shot on #9. Great job WhiteShadow!!

Let’s see if anyone can take over the #1 spot from him…

WhiteShadow was kind enough to offer some tips to let everyone know how he plays the game. I think many of you will find these helpful.

WhiteShadow’s Top 5 Tips

1. Practice the Perfect Swing – there’s no penalty for whiffing. Let the green bar run through without clicking to help get your timing focused for the Perfect Swing.

2. Skip Holes, Restart and Take Notes – skip holes you’ve already mastered to work on others. Since you can’t “really” skip a hole, just swing quick without worrying about score and move on to the next hole. Take notes vigorously. Note the wind club, stance, spin, swing and shot quality – distance to the pin and perfect swing mark. Like whiffing, there’s no penalty for restarting. Use Restart to quickly exit a bad round when you’re shooting for the low score.

3. #4 – with the wind at 2 MPH left-to-right, position arrow to the left of the pin by about one pin-length while in green view, move ball up about half-a-tick mark in your stance, set full backspin and take a full swing with the 2 Hybrid. You should be within a few feet every time, if not a hole-in-one.

4. #7 – with any wind, use the PW, full backspin and ball all the way up in your stance. Depending on the right-to-left wind strength, position the arrow further and further right of the pin. For example 3MPH position in the middle of the fringe off to the right, 4MPH a little further and so on. You’d be surprised how far right you need to position the arrow for 6MPH. Take a full swing and don’t get worried when you hear a heartbeat.

5. Turn the sound off if you are at work!

World Golf Tour in Fortune Magazine!

Posted in World Golf Tour News at 1:45 pm by rich

We were thrilled to see an article in Fortune Magazine this month about the World Golf Tour! It is quite an honor being compared to Einstein’s theory of relativity. Clearly, the author really enjoyed our game. Just wait until we have a full 18-holes to play. Productivity could truly come to a screeching halt.

With all of the new people joining the site and playing the game it means a lot more competition. Will Sammy’s record score of 41.62 remain on the top of the leaderboard? We will send out a WGT golf shirt to anyone who beats his score! Time to hit the links!!
