WOW - Noah382 is in First!
Noah382 has scored a 37.24 to take the lead from Whiteshadow. The score is truely amazing considering I can’t even come close. Everyone can be assured that we have checked Noah382’s game history and everything looks legit. The term “These Guys are Good” really applies to our leaders. Congratulations Noah382, but watch your back, a few players are only one good round away.

I have to tip my hat to anyone that can post a score so low. The best I have been able to achieve is 129. To post a score under 40 every shot has to be perfect. That is truly remarkable.

so … given my Legend Potential is 27.99, does that get me a brownie button or gold star or … yah whatever. Good Job Noah .. now my only question is who has next?

My lowest is like 97.If it wasn’t for holes 3 and 8 I would probably score like 50 at lowest.

Good job, Noah. I don’t know how ya’ll do it. Especially with the Pro Clubs. That bar moves awfully fast. Just when I think I have it figured out on any given round, a hole jumps up and bites me. I am getting real close to breaking the century mark, but 2, 4 and 8 are killing me. I do feel like there is a glitch on #2. Awful lot of perfectly struck balls going into the water and offline of intended target.
Hit ‘em close, Ladies and Gents!

I meant holes 4 and 8 in my comment.Hole 8 is real annoying while I just cant hit consistently close shots on 4.

hole #2 with the pro clubs is fairly easy if you can hit close to a perfect swing
If there is a 2 mile an hour wind bring the spin down about 25% from where is starts.
If there is a 3 mile an hour wind take the spin down to about 50%(halfway between full spin and no spin)
Stick with the club it starts you with and Leave your aim where is starts you. Do a full swing and if you are within maybe a quarter of an inch of a perfect swing you should be 10 feet or less.

holes 4 and 8 are the hardest for me as well.
rebinsc: re #2: I always club up to a seven iron and put the red dot to the lowest point so it will stick on the green. I have had pretty good success with that. even a hole in one!

I agree on hole 2. The ball always seems to fly off to the right unless you pull it. The ball flies to the right of your intended target if you hit it right on.

Hole 4 is easy once you get the mark placements and spin down.
At 5 MPH Wind, with the 2 Hybrid you want to go into Green view and move the mark straight left towards the fringe. You want to put the mark about a half inch from the fringe. Then you’ll want to set your back spin a few ticks down. Not too much down from the center. Use a Full swing at this windage.
With a perfect swing, it will glide a little bit to the left of the pin, once it hits, it will kick to the right and roll right up to the pin.
At 2 MPH wind, with the 2 Hybrid you will want to move the ball, in green view, straight left a little more than half way between the fringe and the pin. You will also want to set your ball spin all the way down. Here you will use not quite a full swing but just ever so slightly less than a full swing.
With a perfect swing, this again will also glide the ball a little left of the pin and kick right at the pin once it bounces.
At the 4 MPH wind, look at the 5 MPH and 2 MPH above and do an in between setup from them.
This should give you a perfect hole #4.

HAHAHA!
you guys are asking d00d to give you the 411 on holes #4 & #8 and the bottom line is you have to hit a perfect shot to get it close to the pin. Now Im no rocket scientist, and I have pretty freakn good H2E coordination, but getting those (2) shots perfect in the same round, same time and all the other holes nailed down is almost impossible. The good news is this game kicks AZZ and its fun trying over n over n over n over n ………

You’re right, it is pretty difficult to hit 4 and 8 in the same round. I can’t remember how many times I went into hole 8 with a really low score and just completly mess it up on 8.
I remember one time, I had 19pts going into hole 8. 19PTS!! That left me a margin of anything less than 19 points on hole 8 and 9 combined would have beat the record. If I hit hole 8 properly, I could have hit in the 20’s for the final score. But hole 8, I missed my swing and hit it in the bunker.
The point I want to make is that even though you do hit a perfect swing, which for inexperienced players is not very often, it’s hard to make adjustments for the next time you play the hole. Without a perfect swing, how can you tell if you hit the ball in the correct spot?
That’s why I think it’s good for people who figure out a hole to give advise, so other’s know how to play the hole in the event they get a perfect swing.
I agree, this game is great. Very addicting. Good thing my boss likes to play as well, or else I might be playing WGT on some library computer, or having a steady diet of government cheese and living in a van down by the river.

These are all really great tips, thanks to all who are contributing. My game has gotten better with these tips.
As I watched the World Golf Championships this weekend one can realize how really hard it is for players to be consistent. Just look at Tiger’s first shot of the weekend against Holmes. World Golf Tour (WGT) is similar to real golf in that consistency and the ability to string multiple great shots together is what wins you the top spots. Go figure, Tiger beat Cink Sunday with birdies on just about 50% of all the holes. That is insane!
Our goal is to make this WGT as authentic as possible. That means executing the swing and tempering your nerves is only a part of the formula. Course management, club selection and reading the situation properly is most of the battle.
Have fun, and thanks for your patience as we roll out new features later this year.

Well they have to be using some device to stop it perfectly everytime. No way (especially as fast as the bar moves on pro clubs) you can hit a near perfect or perfect shot 9 straight times.

It is possible. It’s all about timing. The best tip given to this point was by Whiteshadow: There is no penalty for practice swings. Take a few practice swings on some of the more challenging holes and time your “click”. I’m fighting to do it myself, but I’m sure it is possible.

6 hole in ones-Garbage!
Bronze player of the day–with a 105???haha
Platinum accuracy-pathetic
You come on here and trash talk everything/everyone. Noah382 had a hell of a round and you sit there and accuse him of cheating.

Hole #8
Hole 8 is very tricky as anything other than a perfect swing usually ruins your game. If I don’t hit a perfect swing, I am usually a little bit late, which means sometimes i’ll aim intentionally to the left a little more just for this reason.
When I reference my ball mark for this hole (in green view) I look at the 3 trees behind the green in the rough. While in green view, on the left hand side of the Pin you will see three trees, I will reference these down below for setup.
9 Wind -
Here you will want to up a club to the 2 Wood. Put the ball all the way up in your stance. Put the ball spin all the way to the bottom. Switch to green view, and move your ball mark to the left, towards the long part of the green. You will want to put your ball mark in between the far two left trees. I usually put the mark in the middle of the two trees, but slightly more towards the left.
For your swing, you’ll want to use not quite a full swing, but bring it all the way back until there is about one-eighth inch before the full swing. This should get you within 10 feet or less every time.
8 MPH -
Same as above, but very slight less swing and slightly more to the right with your ball mark.
7 MPH -
Same as above on 8 MPH setup, but very slight less swing and slightly more to the right with your ball mark.
I get a lot of questions about hole 8. Hopefully this will help you out.

Noah hit it right on the nail. Shot 8 is all about reading the wind and adjusting the power and aim accordingly. The green is the shaped in a way that running it up is difficult and hitting behind the pin will roll off.

KDog,
I ain’t running my mouth. I am simply saying you can’t shoot that low without some type of timing device. And I have more than 6 holes in one, but I hit restart after I hit a perfect shot and the game still shanks me way left or way right into the water. So bite me!

ok, i’m looking for some tips on #5. I’ll give you my tips first, so you don’t think i’m getting one up on you. I can get within 15 feet almost all the time, occasionally inside 10, but i’m looking for something more consistent and closer to the hole.
Club up to a 5 iron for all wind speeds.
For a 4MPH wind put backspin on or just below the “rough line” on the ball.
The more the wind increases, the less backspin you use (i.e. 9MPH wind=no backspin).
For 4MPH and 5MPH move stance up 1 notch. Other winds don’t move the stance.
Place the ball in green view directly to the peak of the nearest bunker about midway between the flag and the bunker.
Always use a full swing.
I’m thinking that for the 8 and 9MPH wind, you might need topspin, but that’s what i’m looking to find out. Anyone have a good, and consistent method? Thanks.

I just try out WGT a few days, my shots are ranging from the bunker to within 3′ a hole. I am looking for ways to improve the swing using the beginner clubs. Any tips is appreciated. BTW, Noah hands down my friend. What a feat! Are you also one of those top-notch golfers on the real course as well, just curious?

Thanks, Noah! I’ve been struggling myself on 4 & 8. Great tips! And a great round you had!
Pay no attention to EChump… all computer simulations have at least one guy that can’t do it but figures anyone that can is cheating. Yes, I figure you’re using a “timing device” … It’s called hand/eye coordination. It’s a tool that the Chump needs to acquire.

Good job Noah… I check the leaderboard from time to time and was surprised to see that someone beat whiteshadow.
I’m still using hte amatuer clubs and have had some pretty good shots w/ them, yet my best is only 156.
One thing I’d like to see in this game is a restart button while hte ball is in play (if that’s possible). It sucks when you shank one and you know its going in the sand and you have to wait for it to drop before you can start over. I know it’s a small thing, but it would make a great game even better.
BTW, I can’t wait to see the full version. Even people I know that hate golf are amazed by the graphics on this game.

Here’s how to play hole 5: (pro clubs)
For all wind speeds aim the same way: there’s a grouping of 3 trees to the left of the pin. Put the triangle exactly in the middle of the first tree on the left.
In every instance make no spin adjustment, no stance adjustment
4 to 6 mph wind - use 5 iron. ~75% backswing for 4mph, ~80% for 5mph and ~85 to 90% for 6mph
7 to 9mph - use 4 iron with same relative percentages listed above.
With a good swing, you should get inside 10 feet everytime.
Congratulations Noah - I feel your pain about #8. Last night I hit it to 5 inches on #4, then aced number 5 to come into 8 with a 20. Blew it!
Don’t get too comfortable though - I’m gunning for ya!

My best score is 108, but I expect to get down at least into the 80’s - for me its a matter of overcoming nerves on the last couple of holes. I find the game is a great yoga for developing the ability to hold a relaxed mental focus. I can definitely see how someone with good hand-eye coordination could score as low as 37 ( I’m 65 so I don’t expect to compete with the younger players. ) To ecuaump34 I say, shutup and practice.
BTW, you can’t get a good score using a mouse recording program because the timing of the movement of the swing bar is slightly randomized, enough to totally blow it if you try to use a fixed timing. ( yes, i tried it)
If I could have one change to the program it would be to have tic marks on the swing bar every 10%, so you could say “take a 88% swing”. I actually made a scale with paper and taped it on my screen, and it helped me a lot. I know, that’s pretty obsessive.
Anyway, it’s a great game.
And thanks, Noah for the tips!

Hey guys.
Newly arrived to this game due to a tournament in denmark, where we are playing this game in the first round.
But i’m really struckling with some of the holes.
I would gladly accept any assistance and help that anyone of you could give me. Atm i’m playing with beginners clubs and my best so far is 149 pts. But i kinda need to improve more.
So any advice would be appreciated.
(cept for switching the pro clubs, because i am seriously too slow for it
).
