Did Tiger Make the Right Decision?
In a new video on ESPN, Tiger admits he is a “stubborn ass”. Do you think he made the right decision to go ahead and play in the U.S. Open?

I think he made the right decision to play Alex. The surgery to repair the torn ligament was inevitable, whether he played or not.
Maybe this tournament just had a lot of sentimental meaning to Tiger. It was Father’s Day (his first as a father) and his daughter’s 1st birthday was on June 18th.
Maybe he thought he could play through the pain and possibly continue his quest to pass Jack on the all-time major wins list.
I’m curious to see how this will affect viewer ratings with Tiger not playing for the remainder of 2008…

We will all be watching closely to see which stars on the Tour step up and take advantage of Tiger’s absence. It is just a matter of time before the Tour needed to deal with the Tigerless issue and here is the dress rehearsal. At least at WGT we have TigerSmith!

Does anyone know what Tiger’s reaction to the best online game in this solar system is? Has he played World Golf Tour?

He’s waiting for the full course version Of WGT like the rest of us before making a comment.

Well, if the WGT can somehow get involved with Tiger Woods, how about suggesting an outing with the reigning WGT champ?
Yes, I know it’s a shameless request, but sometimes it’s worth asking!
I’ll do my best in Tiger’s stead

I agree with Ernie Els…whenever Tiger made a bad shot, he winced…seconds after the shot. Good shots, no problemo. To me that was obvious by the 2nd day.
As for whether he should have played…probably not. There’s no assurance that his surgery will fix the problem and it’s conceivable he’ll never play again, though it’s unlikely it’d come to that. It’s silly to risk the next 20-30 years of play on a single tournament. -Rod-

USAPatriot is totally wrong. In fact, the announcers, especially Johnny Miller, commented on the wincing didn’t indicate a bad shot. You’d see him make the face and then they’d pan to a driving landing in the fairway time and again…

Miller’s still being taken seriously? Wow…

USA Patriot has no idea what he is talking about. First of all, Retief Goosen made the comment. You got the wrong South African. Secondly, he winced on good and bad shots. Don’t make comments unless you know the facts.

…and now would probably be a good time to step in. It’s OK to dispute facts and disagree, but let’s keep it nice. Thanks!

Better tell it to golf.com then. It was their article that stated it was Els. -Rod-
