In order to perform necessary maintenance and updates, we are making the Closed Beta site inaccessible at 6:00 PM Pacific time today, September 29. This means you will not be able to log in to the site at all. We will inform all beta testers via email when the next playable version of the game is ready for more testing. However, our Charity Challenge site is still up and available for you to play here: World Golf Tour
Thank you,
WGT

I was reading today about how the financial meltdown may lead to a glut of empty and unfinished golf courses. Golf, generally considered to be a discretionary activity, is expected to take a hit as Americans cut their spending. Do you plan to cut down on the number of rounds you play because of the financial crisis? As for me, I will be playing golf for free, on my computer

So I’m here at work trying to focus making sure we get you some incredible features in the next product release. But I can’t help but go back to masters.org and check the score. Guess what I stumbled on while I’m on their site… The guys in Augusta want “you to submit your ideas on how to get people playing, watching and talking about golf”. Well guess what… WGT would love to shoot Augusta and bring it to your home PC for play with your friends and family. So if you want to help us get Augusta excited about WGT go to this link and tell them your opinion http://www.masters.org/ggw/en/index.html

Make sure to watch the inaugural event of the World Series of Golf on NBC this weekend June 23rd and 24th. The event is made up of everyday golfers who anted up $10,000 each to enter the tournament. The format is based on Texas Hold ‘Em Poker where players must ante before each tee shot, and can bet, raise and fold on each hole. There will be some great drama played out on the course. The winner will end up taking home $250,000! Not a bad payday just for playing a couple rounds of golf.
Make sure you check it out on NBC this coming weekend!

This comment was posted by a World Golf Tour player who attends Harvard challenging their rival, Yale, to a World Golf Tour competition. Let’s see if the “Yalies” are willing to step-up and accept the challenge!
Harvard v. Yale:
We, the undergraduate class of 2011, challenge those Yalie punks in New Haven to a match the greatest internet sport ever, the greatest game ever -World Golf Tour, Inc. What would you Yalies be willing to pony-up per hole per freshman?
Please contact us at Facebook and mention www.worldgolftour.com and look for the Harvard/Yale challenge.
