I was reading today about how the financial meltdown may lead to a glut of empty and unfinished golf courses. Golf, generally considered to be a discretionary activity, is expected to take a hit as Americans cut their spending. Do you plan to cut down on the number of rounds you play because of the financial crisis? As for me, I will be playing golf for free, on my computer

Make sure to watch the inaugural event of the World Series of Golf on NBC this weekend June 23rd and 24th. The event is made up of everyday golfers who anted up $10,000 each to enter the tournament. The format is based on Texas Hold ‘Em Poker where players must ante before each tee shot, and can bet, raise and fold on each hole. There will be some great drama played out on the course. The winner will end up taking home $250,000! Not a bad payday just for playing a couple rounds of golf.
